Adds 13 hours blockade of normalistas in Paseo de la Reforma and Insurgentes

A group of protesters has kept the road closed at the intersection of Av. Insurgentes and Paseo de la Reforma.

According to the National Assembly of Electric Power Users, who accompany the students in their protest, the blockade began at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20.

The students used four trucks to cut off traffic on these avenues. Capital authorities recommend motorists to use alternate routes such as Internal Circuit and Av. Chapultepec.

What are the students asking for?

The protest belongs to the students of the Normal Rural ‘Carmen Serdán’ of Teteles de Ávila Castillo, Puebla.

The protesters seek rapprochement with authorities for the dismissal of some directors, as well as to demand that the institution not be privatized.

Lines 1 and 7 of the Metrobus partially operate due to blockade

Meanwhile, the Metrobus service on Lines 1 and 7 provide partial service.

The Metrobús reported that due to the protesters, provisional services are being implemented on Line 1 from Indios Verdes to Plaza de la República, and from Plaza de la República to El Caminero. The Reforma and Hamburgo stations are without service.
