Board of Directors of the Senate receives official letters to withdraw opinion on the Armed Forces

The Board of Directors of Senate of the Republic received two trades for withdraw the opinion of reform to maintain until 2028 the Armed forces in public security tasks.

The withdrawal request was filed by the united commissions Constitutional Points and Second Legislative Studies.

During the ordinary session this Wednesday, the president of the Board of Directors, Alejandro Armenta, confirmed the receipt of the official letter.

Armenta Mier pointed out that the official letter was not processed because it did not meet the relevant requirements.

Meanwhile, a discussion was opened on the validity of both trades, with the request of the united commissions to vote in plenary to decide to return the opinion to commissions.

Previously, the leader of Morena’s caucus in the Senate, Ricardo Monrealproposed to suspend the discussion of the reform and return it to committees.
