Havana, Sep 21 (ACN) Contributing to the education of the population in the field of family law is the purpose of the book Families in the Constitution, which was presented today in this capital.
The publication, compiled by Leonardo Pérez Gallardo and Daimar Cánovas González, professors at the Faculty of Law of the University of Havana, is the result of doctoral theses and research from all over the country in the field of legal sciences, and also contains the Theoretical bases of the Family Code.
Pérez Gallardo expressed at the National Center for Sex Education (Cenesex) that in order to understand the Code, which will be held in a popular referendum on September 25, it is necessary to understand the Constitution of the Republic and the bases on which it is based.

During the presentation of the book, Doctor of Legal Sciences Ana María Álvarez-Tabío recognized the potential of the material, whose content is fully valid and is part of the Family Code.
For the detailed analyzes on different issues that the constitutional text dedicates to family reality and for constituting a bibliographic source for postgraduate and undergraduate studies, the Cuban Academy of Sciences awarded the book Las Familias en la Constitución one of the 2021 National Awards, in the field of Social and Humanistic Sciences.
