The FC Barcelona player, Ousmane Dembélé, has recognized in an interview that he has conceded to RMC Sport that he lost “a long time” from 2017 to 2021, that is, his first four seasons as a Barça player.

“From 2017 to 2021 I lost a lot of time, five years of my life! There was this click when Koeman arrived at Barça. I had to work hard to be able to perform and feel important.”commented the French striker, called up by his country’s coach for the UEFA Nations League matches against Austria in Saint-Denis (September 22) and Denmark in Copenhagen (September 25).

Dembele He also commented on what happened in the last transfer market, in which he ‘signed’ for FC Barcelona until June 2024 on July 14 as a free agent after leaving the Barça entity on June 30.

“For me it is very important to have confidence and Xavi has given it to me. We talked a lot and I felt that I could do important things, so I was practically forced to continue at the club”, said. He added that “besides, my goal, like that of the whole team, is to win the Champions League again.”

Dembele He signed for FC Barcelona for the 2017-18 season from Borussia Dortmund for 105 million euros plus variables that, at most, could amount to 40% of the fixed amount (42 million euros).
