The former Minister of the Interior, Izkia Siches, will return to the Juan de Dios Hospital on October 3, where she will work 22 hours a week in the Infectology area. Let us remember that this is the Obligatory Care Period (PAO) that she must comply with in payment for the state loan that she received to pursue her specialization in internal medicine, in that same hospital.
After her departure as Minister of the Interior was finalized on September 6, this Wednesday the place where Izkia Siches will work was confirmed.
According to the media Ex-Ante, on Monday, October 3, the doctor and former president of the Medical Association will return to the Juan de Dios Hospital, where she was hired 22 hours a week.
Siches will maintain this same part-time job in the care facility, specifically in the Infectology area.
Let us remember that this is the Obligatory Care Period (PAO) that must be fulfilled in payment for the state loan that he received to carry out his specialization in internal medicine, in that same hospital.
Meanwhile, when Siches was serving as President Gabriel Boric’s chief of staff, Senator Javier Macaya, president of the UDI, pointed out that Izkia Siches had a scholarship payment pending at the San Juan de Dios Hospital.
However, the healthcare facility confirmed that the former Colmed president was hired 22 hours a week and that at that time she was making use of her legal holiday.
“On January 1, 2018, he began his mandatory care period (PAO), corresponding to 3 years of return in a 44-hour week,” they said from the establishment in a statement.
Then, he mentioned that the professional requested a reduction in her working hours to 22 hours per week, with an extension of the mandatory assistance period for the remaining proportional time, which was approved on August 22.
Even the same doctor defended herself on social networks. “I have never failed to comply with my compulsory assistance period. I work 22 hours in Infectious Diseases at the San Juan de Dios Hospital and now I find myself on vacation after my postnatal period, ”she wrote on her Twitter account last year.
Exit of Siches from the Ministry of the Interior
It should be remembered that Siches resigned from the presidency of the Medical College to assume the role of Boric’s campaign manager in the second round, and was later appointed as Minister of the Interior.
After his departure, it was unknown where Siches would go, and finally he will return to the Juan de Dios Hospital, west of Santiago Centro, to fulfill his 22 hours a week.
According to the aforementioned media, even before arriving at the Palacio de La Moneda, Siches’ PAO period would have been extended until 2023, which would last a few more months for the period in which he was in the Government without doing it.
The only alternative that the doctor would have to not return, explained experts in this process, is to pay the amount that she owes.
