José Altuve appeared as the leadoff hitter for the Houston Astros in Game 3 of their series at Tropicana Field in Florida’s Tampa Bay against the Rays. The native of Maracay had a regular performance with the ninth Texan when batting 1-2 with a single in the first inning.
Unfortunately, in the fifth inning, the Creole player was hit in the elbow by right-hander Corey Kluber when his account was on a ball and two strikes. This would make him walk to first base and push Martin Maldonado to second base.
This pitch would stop the game while Altuve relieved his pain and, although he was able to continue momentarily and go towards first, he would later be replaced in the sixth inning by Mauricio Doubon due to discomfort in his left elbow.
Jose Altuve left the game with left elbow discomfort. He’s day to day.

The second baseman of the Houston Astros will be evaluated day by day in order to know his condition and determine if he will be available for the postseason, to which the Texans are already qualified, by being crowned division champions.
