Pepe Mel and Rubén Castro meet again in a ‘very Betic’ Malaga

Pepe Mel was presented this Wednesday as the new coach of the Malaga CF. The Madrid coach has been “confident” of being able to change the course of the blue and white club, for which he will have several former Betisboth in the squad and in its coaching staff.

“What I come here is to add, to help, to make my work available to the club; to connect with the footballers, who from today are going to see someone who is going to help them in me. This is very long,” Mel said during his presentation.

In Malaga, Mel meets up with several players he had during one of his stages with the Real Betis Balompie as they are Ruben Castro, Alfred N’Diaye and Juanfran Moreno, with whom he explained that he spoke before signing for the blue and white entity. “There are three footballers in the squad that I have already had, the least was to talk to them,” said Mel, who also spoke about their status. “They are worried. They are good professionals and they know that the team is not performing to the level that everyone expects, but they also know that they can turn it around.”

Questioned about the canary battering ram, Mel He explained that “this will be the tenth season together, six at Betis, one at Rayo, two at Las Palmas and this one, so we know each other well. I read Rubén between the lines, I know when he makes a gesture that he is thinking. He He is convinced that this can be done well, he thinks that the change can be good for everyone by washing their heads, listening to new things, not better or worse, and presenting surely different ways of approaching the game”.
