The Board of Directors of the Senate receives a request to withdraw the opinion on the extension of the armed forces in public security tasks

The United Commissions of Constitutional Points and Legislative Studies, Second, requested the Board of Directors of the Senate the withdrawal of opinion with reform to extend until 2028 the participation of Armed forces in matters of public securityreported the President of the Senate, Alejandro Armenta Mier.

When asked by the coordinator of the Movimiento Ciudadano bench, Clemente Castañeda, Senator Armenta Mier explained that he received the document, but pointed out that “it has not yet been processed” by the Board of Directors.

The president of the Constitutional Points Commission, Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar, clarified that the procedure is unfinished because it does not have the form of all the members of the united commissions.

The senators of the Citizen Movement Dante Delgado, Juan Zepeda, Noé Castañón and Clemente Castañeda, demanded that the president of the Board of Directors not process the document, because according to the Senate regulations, no commission can meet while the plenary is in session. .

And it is that after the leader of the Morena bench and president of the Political Coordination Board, Ricardo Monreal, proposed returning the opinion to the commissions to open a space for dialogue in order to seek consensus, both commissions sent the official letter to the Board of Directors with the request that the document be withdrawn to temporarily stop the legislative process.

Meanwhile, the president of the Jucopo holds meetings with legislators and officials to define what decision will be taken in the face of the opposition’s demand that the ruling not be withdrawn and that a vote be taken today.
